Eliza Gearty is a writer and facilitator based in Glasgow and London. She is drawn to telling character-led stories about the impact of socio-political issues on human relationships.

 

Her writing credits for theatre include HOME (Rehearsed Reading, Traverse Theatre, 2023) and ABOUT MONEY (Summerhall, Fringe 2022 & Theatre503 2021). Eliza was a BBC Writers Scottish Voice in 2023. She is currently developing her first series for television, a comedy-drama about motherhood and shame.

 

Eliza also writes fiction. Her novella ON THE DOORS was published by Speculative Books in 2019. 

 

As a facilitator, Eliza has led creative writing workshops in prisons, libraries and with numerous community groups in Glasgow.
